Hugh Stirling Ltd is a Glasgow based building contractor who have been operating within the construction industry for over 60 years. We are a fast-growing business with secured contracts across Central Scotland and we are looking to recruit a Site Manger with the strategic mind and drive to deliver the best for our customers and our business. 


Supervising multi trade projects from inception to completion, you will exemplify our commitment to delivery and customer satisfaction whilst managing Health & Safety to the highest possible standards and ensuring quality and best practice across various types of projects. 


In most instances the projects that you will manage will be across the central belt however there may be a requirement to travel further afield depending on the geographical spread of secured work in the business.

What you will do

As Site Manager you will be responsible for:

  •  Ensuring that the Hugh Stirling SHEQ policies and guidelines are adhered to and that a Site Safety Plan is implemented in a timely fashion.

  • The planning and implementation of site logistics.

  • The overall co-ordination and control of you project, including the management of in-house staff, labour resources and sub-contractors.

  • Always ensuring full compliance with the company’s policies and procedures to ensure effective management of Health & Safety at all times.

  • Building and maintaining good relationships with clients, members of the design team and other consultants as well as stakeholders. 

  • Report to the Project Manager on progress and programme identifying any risks as well as proposals to resolve.

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Experienced Site Manager with a proven track record preferably with a joinery background.

  • SMSTS Qualified.

  • CSCS Registered.

  • 1st Aid Certificate.

  • Asbestos Awareness. 

  • Computer Literacy.

  • A willingness to travel as required.

  • Current UK driving license.

  • The ability to lead, motivate and develop site based teams.

  • Strong IT skills together with an ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

  • A proactive approach to management with the ability to problem solve.
