Role Responsibilities

  • Manage the site teams and report to the Project Director covering all aspects of the delivery process including Programming and Planning, Quality Management and the Management of Health and Safety.

  • Work with the Commercial Department to successfully manage budgets including variations.

  • Implement and ensure the effective management of change control procedures.

  • Co-ordinate and manage sub-contractors and suppliers.

  • Identify, assess and manage project risks.

  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with clients, stakeholders and all members of the construction team.

  • Positively influence the internal team and seek to add value.

  • Provide leadership to the project construction team to ensure that works are carried out to the highest possible standards.

  • Deliver projects on time and to exceptional standards of quality and safety

  • To always exceed the clients expectations, build relationships and develop further opportunities for the business.

  • Adopt and maintain the highest standards in the management of health and safety targeting zero incidents.

Key Experience

  • Suitable experience in the construction field (both new build and refurbishment/development) with an awareness of construction methods.

  • Full working knowledge of planning and programming software (Microsoft Project, Asta or similar).

  • Practical knowledge of standard forms of contract.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Commercial acumen and contractual knowledge.

  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels with clients, suppliers and colleagues.

  • Strong I.T. skills.

  • A creative and innovative approach to problem solving.

  • The ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.

  • A practical understanding of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation.

  • Experience working within the building contract / fit out industry would be desirable although not essential as training will be provided.

 

Qualifications

  • A degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, however an HND will be considered

  • Full, clean UK driving licence.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Construction Manager who will be responsible for managing a busy team working on a variety of projects across the central belt. Reporting to the Projects Director, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for delivering a range of construction projects.
