Role Responsibilities

Manage the site teams and report to the Project Director covering all aspects of the delivery process including Programming and Planning, Quality Management and the Management of Health and Safety.

Work with the Commercial Department to successfully manage budgets including variations.

Implement and ensure the effective management of change control procedures.

Co-ordinate and manage sub-contractors and suppliers.
-
Identify, assess and manage project risks.
-
Develop strong collaborative relationships with clients, stakeholders and all members of the construction team.
-
Positively influence the internal team and seek to add value.
-
Provide leadership to the project construction team to ensure that works are carried out to the highest possible standards.

Key Experience
-
Suitable experience in the construction field (both new build and refurbishment/development) with an awareness of construction methods.

Full working knowledge of planning and programming software (Microsoft Project, Asta or similar).

Practical knowledge of standard forms of contract.

Self-motivated with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
-
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
-
Commercial acumen and contractual knowledge.
-
The ability to communicate effectively at all levels with clients, suppliers and colleagues.
-
Strong I.T. skills.
-
A creative and innovative approach to problem solving.
-
The ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
-
A practical understanding of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation.
-
Experience working within the building contract / fit out industry would be desirable although not essential as training will be provided.
Qualifications
-
A degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, however an HND will be considered
-
Full, clean UK driving licence.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Construction Manager who will be responsible for managing a busy team working on a variety of projects across the central belt.
