Hugh Stirling was appointed as Main Contractors to deliver Paul ‘Paesano Pizza’ Stevenson’s latest development, a 230 seater restaurant in the ground floor of the Grade A Listed Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed Lighthouse Building.

The fit-out, which took place over a 12-week period, included stone restoration works, new shopfront, creation of the restaurant, as well as toilets, kitchens, cellars and offices. Key challenges included working within the Grade A listed environment which had greatly restricted access for extensive building works to be carried out including major structural works and circa 45 tonnes of screed to level the floors.

The interior features include multiple Arabescato counters, one of which is 12m long, feature resin floors, metal screens and over 500 square metres of glass tiles to clad internal walls. Additional features included Corten Steel cladding with a special oxidised finish, plus we also manufactured all the tables, fixed and loose bench seating in hardwood and mild steel.
